I LOVE photos! I have always been one to take lots of photographs through the years, but when I had Jax and Hudson, this was taken to a whole other level! You can now find endless amounts of photos and videos on our cellphones and laptops – sharing daily updates with friends and family.
When I found out I was pregnant with Jax, I was so excited to plan every little thing. On the top of my list was maternity photos. You guys know me, I’m a BIG researcher, so I scoured the internet to find the perfect photographer. I spent a lot of time looking at portfolios and packages. I was pleased to discover Tia Photography and she’s been shooting my family photos since.
I wasn’t sure what to expect for my first session with Tia so I brought a bunch of different outfits and sent her some Pinterest inspiration beforehand. Some simple outfits, some dressier ones and brought way more than I needed but I wanted to have options! Tia loved the Pinterest ideas and worked with my vision – but she also had her own ideas that worked out beautifully.
She is conveniently located in Kanata, Ontario, a short drive for me (yay!) but truth be told I would have driven a lot farther to work with her, she’s just amazing!
I was so pleased when I received all my images on disc shortly after our first session. This is rare in my research of photographers. And, I was blown away by the results!
Naturally, I decided to book her for Jax’s big arrival. She recommended under 2 weeks old to capture size, baby wrinkles, sleepiness and being new. She also said after 2 weeks is wonderful for open eyes, smiles and facial expressions. We had Jax’s taken at 9 days new.
Tia actually comes to you, and I wanted her to come to our house so that some of the photos could be taken in Jax’s nursery which I had such a lovely time putting together. This was super convenient and so special to capture those moments in his room. Again, speedy delivery and incredible results. I’ve recommended Tia to many people, and will continue to do so!
To change it up we went to her studio for Hudson when he was under 2 weeks old. Of course, in true second child syndrome fashion, the nursery wasn’t fully complete yet so this was the best option.
We’ve gone to her for Christmas sessions, fall family photos, mommy and me sessions, and more! She recently shot me and the boys for my blog as I’m having my new website designed and needed headshots and banner images. We haven’t tried it yet, but she often has Easter mini photo sessions with baby goats… how cute is that!? And her 1-year-old cake smash photos are to die for!
I only recently learned that she is one of the angels in the Ottawa area that volunteers for ‘Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep’ an organization devoting its efforts in providing remembrance photography for parents who have suffered the loss of their baby. I already knew she was one of the kindest people I had met but when I heard this, my heart was full. I can’t imagine the pain these families go through and for people like Tia to volunteer their time for these families, well, it’s beyond a beautiful and selfless gesture.
Tia is offering 10% off right now if you mention NaomiBianca613 if you book before November 30th! Take advantage of this amazing offer, I promise you won’t regret it!
Now I just need to get all these beautiful memories into photobooks. Since Jax was born it’s been on my to-do list and I wanted to start the tradition of an annual family yearbook.
I would love your suggestions on photobooks as there are so many, I don’t even know where to start! Looking forward to hearing from you all.
