How many memberships do I have? Well, a lot! It’s because, as you guys know, we like switching things up but there are also a lot of really good play centres in Ottawa. So when I heard there was a new one that recently opened, we had to check it out!
Located on Merivale Road in Ottawa’s west end, Bubblesea Adventures is a bright, colourful, open space that caters to a range of ages for endless play in a safe environment.
Safety first! I have to say, I was really impressed with the excellent safety system when you first arrive – the staff marks your hand and your children with an invisible marker that only shows with their special light. This is to make sure someone doesn’t leave with your child. This practice creates peace of mind (for me) and the invisible marker is pretty neat (for the kids). Of course, you’re supposed to watch your children but this just makes it easier for parents juggling multiple kids, if you happen to lose sight of one.
One thing I actually really liked is that there is no arcade. Don’t get me wrong, we LOVE playing arcade games but when you are visiting often you tend to spend a lot of extra money on all the games and the junk that you win with them.
Another unique feature that sets Bubblesea Adventures apart from the other play places are the rooms that have different interactive sensory play. There is the coolest sand table with a projector lighting system which projects a magical scene of sea animals and volcanoes – where was this when I was a kid, right moms? Another room has a Lego Duplo table, an interactive colouring room, a puzzle room and much more. There was literally too much to see in just one visit (so we bought a membership, of course)!
They literally thought of every little detail! The entire centre is covered in the cushiest padded floor, it’s literally the softest flooring I’ve experienced, and it’s everywhere! If your little one falls, you definitely don’t need to worry. They also have two massive ball pits that puts other places to shame.
For the littles, there is a section of the centre that is dedicated to 2 years and under, although from what we experienced the two-year-olds can handle most of the place with no problems.
Did I mention the place is as clean as a whistle?! I felt like I could literally eat off the floor. We’ve already gone three times since I purchased my membership and every single time I see staff cleaning thoroughly.
Overall, I noticed there are a lot of unique features and activities that the others don’t have. My husband joined on the last visit and said it was his favourite play place for many of these same reasons.
I’m always happy to hear your experiences with our Ottawa play centres, so please share your thoughts. If you haven’t been to Bubblesea Adventures yet, you must check it out! I highly recommend it, and I assure you won’t be disappointed. Tell them I sent you!
