There are so many new products that come to market daily and I have only JUST recently learned about Beautycounter! I used to sell Stella & Dot Jewelry and I loved it. My former colleague, Sandra Butler, now works for Beautycounter and graciously gifted me some amazing products for me and the kids to review, thank you Sandra!
I was happy to learn from Sandra that Beautycounter bans more than 1,500 harmful ingredients from its products! Shockingly only 80 are banned in the US and 600 in Canada! Can you believe that? These are ingredients that are knowingly linked to cancers, infertility, developmental disabilities, birth defects, auto-immune diseases and allergies. What we put ON our body is just as important as what we put IN our body!

Cutest little packaging for Beautycounter’s Kids line.
And so fittingly, their mission statement is to put safer products into the hands of everyone. I like it! Not only for me but more importantly for my kids. They also came out with their trademarked “Never List”, a list Beautycounter has made up of more than 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals banned or restricted in personal care products by the European Union, as well as additional chemicals that are found to be of concern.
Check out their ingredients glossary that I found to be especially interesting!

Having the best time in the bath with Beautycounter!
First up in the box of goodies were some super cool products for the kiddos that we tested out at bath time:
Super-Duper Clean Kids Body Wash
I loved the soft berry smell of this gentle body wash. It kept their precious skin nice and soft. They loved it too!
Again, the smell was delish! A creamy vanilla scent that lathered well and was easy to use on my boys.
I have never used a conditioner on Jax and Hudson but they seemed to love it right off the bat, especially because of the head massage that came with it! Fresh scent like the shampoo and their coarse little hair was visibly softer after only a couple of uses.
When Sandra asked about my beauty routine, I told her as a stay at home mom it’s pretty simple. I’ve never worn a lot of makeup to begin with. Even when I worked in an office I would only wear eyeshadow, mascara and lipstick. I have never worn a stitch of foundation or concealer unless it’s for an occasion where I’m having professional makeup done. So, when we spoke about this she suggested some simple makeup and skin care essentials.

My fave product – the gorgeous ‘Fig’ lip gloss.
Here’s what she gave me to test out:
Countermatch Adaptive Moisture Lotion
All of these products were wonderful, and I love that I’m not putting harmful chemicals on my face and body. I’m absolutely obsessed with the lip gloss! I chose the Fig Sheer Plum colour and it’s to die for. Gorgeous gloss sheen and a beautiful plum colour.
All in all, I give Beautycounter 5 stars based on the products I tested and their mission statement that I completely support. Sandra Butler is wonderful to deal with as well! She’s a mother of 3 children and has been married to her husband for 30 years! She began using Beautcounter because it aligned with her personal values to lead a minimalist, healthy lifestyle and allowed her the opportunity to provide safer products to family, friends and clients. And now she is helping this company grow the Canadian Market.
