One of our favourite play centres in the Ottawa area is Kids Kingdom Orléans. We originally signed up for Kids Kingdom Kanata when Jax (who is now 4) was around 18 months. It was super convenient because it’s a quick 5 minute drive from my house.
One of the main benefits of the Kids Kingdom membership is that you can visit both locations. At first I thought, there’s no way I’ll want to drive to Orléans (about a 30 min drive from Kanata) but decided to try it, and am I ever glad we did! It’s well worth the drive and now we go almost once a week.
I love how clean the facility is. Everything looks brand new, so bright and colourful! They have a great toddler section that is reserved for children aged 4 and under, which is great for the little ones so they aren’t getting run over by bigger kids.
My kids, aged 2 and 4 enjoy this toddler section, and the regular climbing area as well.
Now, let’s talk about MY favourite part … the games! They have some really fun games in the arcade section (not going to lie, I usually get extra tokens so I can play too)! We like to get that out of the way when we first arrive since all they want to do is games right away. But then we claim our prizes from the ticket earnings and head over to get our climb on. There is a huge climbing bouncy castle with slides. Hudson is finally tall enough to go with his brother and loves to climb like a big boy.
You actually aren’t allowed to bring in any outside food or drinks, but they have tons of food options at their cafeteria. Pizza, hot dogs, chicken, nachos, salads, wraps and more. Nice to have some healthier options in there since you can’t bring your own.
Jax can’t wait for the day when he’s old enough to play laser tag which is unique to this location. It’s a 6,500 sq. ft. space dedicated to laser tag, and looks super fun! He only has 2 more years to wait. They even have laser tag parties, and of course, you can also do birthday parties on the play side if you don’t want to do laser tag. There are infinite options for kids parties!
Kids Kingdom also has daycare on site with 82 full times spots! This is amazing news for parents looking to leave their kids in the hands of qualified caretakers.
They have a great security system so you don’t have to panic if you lose sight of one of your children for a minute. It’s really easy to see the whole facility too, so as a parent of two little ones, I can appreciate it from that perspective. I can set them loose and let them have fun until they are all tuckered out. It’s a win-win! We really do love it there.
So, tell me, have you been to either of the Kids Kingdom locations in Ottawa? What are your favourite play places in the city, and why? Can’t wait to hear about your experiences!
